Description
“Girl-Gang follows the downward spiral of two
friends, Amy (Amy Wong Oi-Mei) and Yin (Nam Yan),
as they are tricked into becoming prostitutes by a
bunch of scummy gangsters.
Though Girl-Gang is not nearly as brutal and out of
control and some of Hong Kong's more famous nasty
offerings, there is something deeply unsettling
about it. Its grimy, artless cinematography and its
sleazy sweaty sex scenes are not any more or less
obnoxious than your average CAT III, but there's a
kind of painful realism to the manipulation of the
"girl gang". The performances are also quite good
in a raw and amateurish way. In particularly, Chung
Bik-Wing as Michelle, a friend of Amy's who is
viciously dragged into her predicament, is really
great, and her brutal treatment is pretty
sickening.”
